Skin Cancer Care: The Best of Both Worlds
Having a fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgery specialist team and an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon at the same practice provides our skin cancer patients with a level of care that is rarely matched. The combined expertise and experience of Dr. Lapinski and Dr. Rios enables them to create comprehensive treatment plans for patients who require Mohs surgery.
Mohs surgery is a precise procedure used to remove cancerous lesions primarily from the face, neck, and hands. After Dr. Lapinski removes all cancerous cells, Dr. Rios repairs the wound to create aesthetically pleasing results. This team approach is a tremendous benefit for our patients.
Dr. Lapinski's interest in patients with skin cancer led her to complete an additional year of training at The University of Texas-Southwestern Medical Center in the area of Mohs micrographic surgery, a specialized method of skin cancer excision and pathologic examination. During her tenure in Dallas she lectured at local and national meetings as a clinical instructor in dermatology and dermatologic surgery.
Dr. Lapinski practiced dermatology and Mohs surgery for another year in private practice in Texas before deciding to move back home to Illinois.
As a Naperville area dermatologist, Dr. Lapinski uses her extensive training and expertise to practice medical dermatology including Mohs surgery, and a variety of cosmetic dermatology procedures.
